We are committed to ensuring the privacy and security of your information is maintained. We therefore have strict guidelines in place to ensure that your data is handled in a fair, transparent and legally compliant way.

Collection of information from minors

Our website and reservation system are not intended for use by those under the age of 16. We therefore do not intentionally collect personal data from minors. We respectfully ask our guests not to submit information, through any channel, regarding minors.

By collecting guest information, we are able to:

  • Communicate with you to provide customer service support and respond to your enquiries.
  • Send you news, events, weekly specials and promotions where you have asked us to.
  • Adapt what we offer based on our understanding of our guests.

  • Gain feedback from our guests about their experience.

We may also, where we have a legal right or duty to do so, use or disclose information. An example of this would be requests from local authorities or police in relation to an investigation.

Our website is built on Google Firebase services for hosting, data storage and notifications.

In all cases, we will only allow service partners to handle your personal data when we are satisfied of their compliance with data protection and security controls. Sharing of data with service partners only occurs for the purpose of providing services to Bantaba House and to you.

There may also be occasions when we are legally obligated to share your information with third parties beyond service partners. These may include:

  • Law enforcement agents;
  • Other legal agents, where a legal obligation necessitates this;
  • For the purpose of the prevention of fraud or other criminal acts and the prosecution of offenders;

Bantaba House is committed to ensuring that the personal data provided to us is secure. We take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information from loss or misuse, including restricting access to reservation and enquiry records to authorised team members only.

Period of time your information will be stored

Information stored with your permission will only be kept for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. As a general rule, we will store your data for a maximum of 5 years after your last transaction or interaction with us (for example a reservation, enquiry or response to a marketing communication), unless we are required to keep it longer for legal compliance reasons, in which case it will be anonymised. You can also ask us to delete your information at any time.

Our legal basis for processing personal data

To ensure that our use of your personal information always complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), processing must fall under at least one of the specific lawful reasons set out in the GDPR. Such reasons would include:

When you make a reservation, your booking details may be saved locally on your own device so we can show you your recent bookings. This information stays on your device unless you clear your browser storage. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
